Staff Biographies

Rev. Julie Grasham Osterhout


Graduated with a bachelor's degree in music from Carthage College, Kenosha, Wis

A 2014 graduate of the Lutheran Theological Seminary in Philadelphia.

Married to the Rev. Bruce Osterhout, pastor at Zion's Lutheran Church, Perry Township. Mother of four adult children from a previous marriage.

A former music teacher in school districts in Ohio, Pennsylvania and New Jersey.

In the eight years before ordination, Julie worked with five Lutheran Berks County congregations, including Faith, Mount Penn; Nativity, Reading; Frieden's, Shartlesville; Zion, Perry Township; and Salem, Bethel. She also served as a temporary organist at St. Luke's, Reading.

Carol Koch

Associate in Ministry

Graduated from Susquehanna University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Music Education.

Completed 9 credit hours, 3 courses, at the Lutheran Seminary at Philadelphia.

Completed 13 credit hours, 5 courses, with SELECT.

Since coming to Trinity, has participated in 2 three day handbell workshops and 2 one day handbell workshops; 2 synod learning ministry workshops and a three day children’s ministry workshop in Illinois.

Taught Elementary Instrumental and vocal music for 6 years in the public schools of PA and MD.

Played in and directed handbell choirs for 20 years in PA and FL.

Organized 2 adult handbell choirs in 2004 and have directed from then to the present.

Organized a youth handbell choir in 2007 and have directed from then to the present.

Employed as temporary church secretary in February 2005 and hired as permanent church secretary/administrative assistant in May 2005.

Chairperson of Parish Education since October 2007.

Play Sunday School music since 2005.

Served on Worship and Music committee from 2003.


Nancy M. Moyer

Organist and Senior Choir Director

Ms. Moyer was born, raised, and educated in Reading, PA becoming a medical secretary and medical assistant working in two doctor’s offices.

She began taking piano lessons at age 8 and organ lessons around the age of 11. She played her first organ services at 12 in her home church, St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Reading.

In 1979, after playing in several other churches, she came to Trinity Lutheran, Wernersville as Organist and Senior Choir Director.

Duties include playing at Church worship services, playing for weddings and funerals, and directing the Senior Choir.

Member of the Music and Worship Committee.

Hobbies include hand sewing (counted cross stitching/embroidery) and crocheting.
